On the 2. of April the Echo Music Awards will be given out in Berlin, Germany. "Dragostea Din Tei" has been nominated for this award in the category : Best Single National and International. It will be broadcasted on RTL Germany on 2. of April at 21.15 Berlin time.

Dan is working on a solo project. A pop-rock album. He wants to release his album in North America first and then eventually in Europe. He is currently in New York.

This week, Romanian Newspapers reported that Dan Balan has won the Popoiag trial. Balan is the true author of Dragostea Din Tei and Popoiag has to face the consequences of this "senseless action", as Balan had said it in this interview with the Adevarul. Popoiag will have to pay 60 000 000 lei (1551,55 €) for calumny. Balan anounced he is pleased about the outcome of the trial and he will donate the money to help young musicians and composers in Romania.
